Health Benefits of Tapping
Have you ever heard of tapping? It’s a technique that involves gently tapping on specific points on your body while repeating positive affirmations. Tapping is also known as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) or psychological acupressure. It is based on the idea that negative emotions are caused by disruptions in the body’s energy system, and that tapping can restore the balance and release the emotional blockages.
Tapping has been shown to have many health benefits, such as reducing stress, anxiety, depression, pain, and cravings. It can also improve self-esteem, confidence, and emotional well-being. Tapping is easy to learn and can be done anywhere, anytime.
Here are some steps to get started with tapping:
- Identify the issue or emotion you want to work on. For example, you might feel anxious about an upcoming presentation or angry at someone who hurt you.
- Rate the intensity of your emotion on a scale of 0 to 10, where 0 is no emotion and 10 is the most intense.
- Choose a positive affirmation that reflects what you want to feel or believe. For example, you might say “I am calm and confident” or “I forgive and let go”.
- Start tapping on the karate chop point, which is the fleshy part of your hand below your pinky finger. While tapping, repeat your affirmation three times out loud or in your mind.
- Move on to the other tapping points, which are located on the top of your head, the inner eyebrow, the side of your eye, under your eye, under your nose, your chin, your collarbone, and under your arm. Tap each point about seven times while repeating your affirmation.
- Take a deep breath and check in with yourself. How do you feel now? Rate your emotion again on a scale of 0 to 10. If it has gone down, you can continue tapping until it reaches zero or a comfortable level. If it has gone up or stayed the same, you might need to change your affirmation or address a deeper issue.
Tapping is a simple and effective way to improve your health and happiness. You can use it for any issue or emotion that bothers you, and you can also tap for positive things like gratitude, joy, and love. Try tapping today and see how it can transform your life!
